Irmo may be a small town, but it’s packed with hidden gems perfect for photo sessions. From serene lake views to charming parks, there are plenty of spots that make capturing beautiful memories easy and stress-free.
In this blog, I’m sharing my top go-to places for photography sessions in Irmo—locations I return to again and again because they never disappoint. Whether it’s family photos, engagement sessions, or just capturing a special moment, these spots are sure to inspire your next shoot.

1. Irmo Town Park - Irmo, SC
This is my go-to photo location in Irmo, and for good reason. It may be small, but it is truly mighty when it comes to photo opportunities. Every time I shoot here, I’m reminded of how much variety you can get in one easy, walkable spot.
From the beautiful cherry blossoms in the spring to one of the best gazebos in the area, this park offers timeless and charming backdrops for any session. There’s also an open field that adds even more versatility—perfect for capturing natural, candid moments or giving your session a completely different look without ever leaving the park.
If you’re looking for a location that provides multiple photo options, feels peaceful, and photographs beautifully in every season, Irmo Town Park is always a solid choice and one I recommend often.
2. The Dam - Irmo Side
The Lake Murray Dam in Irmo is the spot if you’re dreaming of wide-open lake views. While it isn’t the most versatile location, what it does offer, it does exceptionally well. With expansive water views, a pier stretching into the lake, and a small surrounding park area, this location is perfect for clean, classic lake photos. It is great around sunset, as the sun sets right on the lake, perfect for those golden hour views!
3. Saluda Shoals Park
I’m really excited to start shooting at this location. While I haven’t had the chance to photograph sessions here yet, it’s a spot that offers so much potential. Situated right along the river, the park features beautiful wooded areas, natural paths, and a peaceful setting that feels tucked away from the busyness of everyday life.
The river provides a gorgeous, natural backdrop, and the surrounding wooden areas create a soft, organic feel that’s perfect for relaxed, nature-focused sessions. It’s an ideal option if you’re drawn to earthy tones, greenery, and a more adventurous outdoor look.
There is an entry fee to access the park unless you have a pass, but for those looking for river views and natural scenery, it’s definitely a location worth considering. I’m looking forward to exploring this park more and adding it into my regular rotation of session locations.
No matter which location you choose, your photos will reflect your story in a way that feels personal and true to you. Each of these spots offers its own style and charm, so the best choice really depends on the vibe you want for your session. I’d love to help guide you in picking the perfect place that matches your personality and vision—just send me a message, and let’s start planning your shoot!
